The microphone which comes bundled with Dragon NaturallySpeaking should be considered as a "starter" microphone. It is recommended to substitute it for a more accurate, noise - canceling microphone. Nowadays, offices often have high levels of background noise. A more accurate, noise - canceling microphone can pay for itself quickly in reduced correction time throughout a typical working day.
We offer the following range of noise - canceling microphones and USB sound adaptors to enhance your accuracy with Dragon NaturallySpeaking speech recognition software. The switch does not require mains power. The headset has a 100 metre range from the base station. If your PC's sound card is not well suited for good speech recognition accuracy because of "electrical noise" (you can determine this via a Windows Sound Recorder test - instructions from us), a USB version can be provided. We pre - assemble the system for you - all you have to do is connect it to your PC and telephone following our simple instructions and labeled wires.

| Andrea USB sound adapter. Basically this can be described as an external sound card. Some computers have sound cards which introduce electronic noise which reduces accuracy. Determine this by doing a windows sound recorder test. (Instructions available from us). An external USB sound adapter is the solution to this problem. It also has the benefit that if used with the same headset with more than one computer, sound input will be identical so you can use the same "user profile" on more than one PC.
